Termination & Tubing

Emme Technology offers a simple and convenient way to minimize installation time by using our termination and tubing services. Why terminate wiring at two locations instead of one? Emme can pre-wire and terminate solenoid valve coils into our limit switch boxes, providing a single access point for electricians to install field wiring. Termination can be ordered for a variety of normal or hazardous duty environments using the ordering codes below. Emme can also install tubing between actuators and positioners or other air handling devices. Tubing is available in nylon, Teflon, or stainless steel – see tubing ordering codes below. Let Emme Technology do the work so you don’t have to!

CAUTION: These are only general guidelines. Safe operation in hazardous conditions depends on the exact installation area, which may require additional precautions. Please consult an engineer to verify installation requirements.

Code: T4X

NEMA 4/4X

Resistant to water intrusion, corrosion resistant, and suitable for any outdoor application. It can withstand high pressure wash-down, caustic sprays, and marine environment exposure. Even temporary immersion is acceptable; however, permanent immersion requires a NEMA 6 rating.

Code: T4C

NEMA 4/4X with Conduit

Resistant to water intrusion, corrosion resistant, and suitable for any outdoor application. It can withstand high pressure wash-down, caustic sprays, and marine environment exposure. Flexible conduit provides additional protection for termination wiring.

Code: TIS

Intrinsically Safe

Designed to operate in hazardous locations when used with an intrinsically safe barrier system. Supply current and voltage is controlled from a safe area so that the device operates below the ignition properties of the atmosphere. Must be used with an appropriate barrier system.

Codes: TXX & TNX

Exp. Proof (Class 1, Div 1)

Designed to operate safely in hazardous areas with continuous possibility of ignition. In these critical applications, correct wiring methods are paramount to longevity and safe operation, and all equipment must be listed by an approved notifying body such as UL or CSA.

Code: TNC/TNL

Exp. Proof (Class 1, Div 2)

Also known as non-incendive, Class 1, Div 2 wiring & termination is for hazardous areas with intermittent possibility of ignition, such as in emergency or maintenance situations. Devices that are electrically operated without a spark or arc are permitted, and can be wired according to the environment area classification. The previous applies to both TNC & TNL. In addition, TNL carries the characteristic of being liquid tight.

Code: NYT

Positioner with Nylon Tubing

Positioners are assembled with Nylon tubing and quick connect air fittings.

Code: TFT

Positioner with Teflon Tubing

Positioners are assembled with Teflon tubing and quick connect air fittings.

Code: SST

Positioner with Stainless Steel Tubing

Positioners can also be hard-piped with stainless steel tubing for tougher environments.
