Solenoid Valves

Max-Air Technology manufacturers the SV series solenoid valves offering a complete range of options designed according to NAMUR VDI/VDE 3845, as well as non-NAMUR style valves. For NAMUR style valves, each solenoid valve is field interchangeable for use in either double acting (4-Way) or spring return (3-Way) rotary actuators and is available in single coil, dual coil, or 3-position configurations (open centers, closed centers, or centers-in-pressure). For non-NAMUR style valves, these are primarily ½” NPT and for use with our heavy duty scotch yoke actuators. Please see price list for available models.

Features and Benefits

Manual Override

Each SV NAMUR solenoid valve comes standard with a lockable manual override. This is an important feature because it allows the solenoid valve to be used manually in case of electrical failure, or for quick cycle testing.

Standard Configuration

Each unit features an anodized aluminum spool, easy to use manual override, and standard as 4-Way (Double Acting) with an optional adapter plate for 3-Way (spring return), and is easily field convertible.

NAMUR Mounting

This feature for NAMUR compliant valves is essential for flush mounting of the solenoid valve to the face of the pneumatic actuator, saving space and facilitating ease of wiring to a limit switch. Units are available in single coil, dual coil, or 3-position configurations (open centers, closed centers, or centers-in-pressure).

Hazardous Locations

SV series NAMUR valves are available in various explosion proof and intrinsically safe configurations, both in single and dual coil models. Valves are fully certified to North American and European standards. Please check the certifications page for a listing of approvals.

Air Inlet & Exhaust Port

SV Series comes with ¼” or ½” NPT air inlet and exhaust connections. This standard connection allows for ease in connecting all airlines and retrofitting each solenoid valve with proper mufflers or speed control devices.

Air Service

Solenoid valves can be used with lubricated or non-lubricated air. It is recommended that all Max-Air solenoid valves be fitted with an appropriate air filter regulator at the valve installation site for an extra level of safety, in order to keep the air quality at the best level possible, thereby extending the life of the entire actuation drive assembly.

Accessories

Max-Air offers a wide assortment of solenoid valve accessories which can help to control the speed of the device, reduce the noise level of the assembly as it operates, provides for a light visual indication to show when the coil of the valve is energized, as well as other wiring options such as extended leads to make installation much more cost effective.

SV61 Series

The SV61 (left pilot) and SV63 (right pilot) solenoid valves are a compact IP65, NEMA 4 rated NAMUR mount solenoid valve that is lightweight and easy to use. This lightweight, compact solenoid valve offers a standard manual override and comes ready for use in 4-Way applications (Double Acting). A spacer plate with exhaust port if offer for easy conversion to 3-Way applications (Spring Return). All units are fully approved by North American and European agencies.

SV71 Series

The SV71 (left pilot) and SV73 (right pilot) solenoid valves are a compact, lightweight solenoid that can be used in intrinsically safe applications. It is important to note that a proper safety barrier needs to be used in conjunction with each intrinsically safe solenoid valve. Solenoids come standard with both 3-Way and 4-Way conversion kits. All units are fully approved by North American and European agencies.

SV91 Series

The SV91 (left pilot) and SV93 (right pilot) solenoid valves are a compact, lightweight solenoid that can be used in explosion proof applications. Solenoids come standard with both 3-Way and 4-Way conversion kits. All units are fully approved by North American and European agencies.
