At Max-Air Technology, we understand what steam service does to a valve. Saturated steam systems can see condensate, particularly during startup, low-load operation, or where drainage is inadequate. Wet steam and repeated thermal cycling increase erosion, seat wear, and packing stress, and can cause seat distortion over time.
Our steam valves are specified around the seat, not just the body rating. For saturated service, the Sesto line stocks both the 50/50 seat (PTFE reinforced with 316 stainless) and PEEK. Graphite packing and firesafe body gaskets hold their seal through the same cycles. The Delta T 800 Series is also available for saturated steam, with a wide range of soft seat options and metal-seated construction.
Superheated service can demand metal-to-metal seating, particularly as temperature and pressure increase. The Delta T 900 Series triple offset provides metal-seated construction for demanding high-temperature service, and forged Sesto ball valves extend metal-seated options into higher-pressure applications.
