Ball valves are not limited to on/off applications; for basic flow control a ball valve can be sufficient depending on your application. The flanged ball valve is equipped with an explosion proof PEX01 4-20mA positioner, lock-up valve, filter regulator and SS tubing. During normal operation, the ball valve is controlled by the 4-20mA signal (4mA being fully closed, 20mA fully open). When air supply is lost, the lock-up valve is triggered to close and blocks all of the actuator air ports, locking the valve in position. This is known as “fail-freeze”.
