This custom automated assembly was designed to meet specific customer requirements, with all components carefully selected and tested to ensure the design benchmarks were met. Instead of air or hydraulic fluid, high pressure water was used as the fluid power for this assembly. Max-Air modified our standard SHD Series heavy-duty scotch yoke actuator with a specially coated cylinder for high pressure water service and a standard spring module for fail-close operation. The closing time was also another critical factor, so the fluid cylinder was outfitted with a larger port and a high flow 3-way pilot valve. Max-Air designed, assembled & tested this assembly in-house.
