A colocation data center needed a reliable way to isolate an 8″ chilled water line feeding a critical redundant chiller during maintenance. The existing manual valve had no lockout provision and was mounted in a hard-to-reach spot, making safe LOTO procedures difficult. Max-Air supplied a resilient seated Delta T butterfly valve with a chainwheel operator, allowing technicians to actuate the valve from floor level, plus an attachable lockout bucket on the chain that accepts a standard padlock. The result: a fast, ergonomic isolation point that satisfies the facility’s LOTO program without adding pneumatic or electric actuation where it isn’t needed.
